11:00-11:45 a.m. Career-Ready Education Foundation
Option 3

Presenter: Eva Foxwell

Working for over 20 years for a Senior Vice-Chairman in the business world afforded me the opportunity to understand what students really need for a successful career. The Managing the Classroom guide provides exactly what the teachers need, and it DOES NOT take the place of a current curriculum. It incorporates REAL WORLD manager jobs to assist the students in finding a purpose within the classroom as they are learning. They learn to co-teach with their teacher, they feel important, plus have fun learning. This workshop will allow an avenue to integrate career-readiness and improve the structure and overall learning environment. But, not only does it assist the students, but teachers feel more organized, positive and suddenly revived in their job. Managing the Classroom workshop is instrumental, impactful, but simple enough for teachers to implement in their own classrooms.

In a small group environment, students will elect leadership positions and develop a business idea. Business leaders volunteer their time and resources to support each student and their journey in entrepreneurship during and after OBW. Each small group is assigned an adult that works with students the entire week giving their business advice and expertise. Not only do they learn skills to be successful in business, they will also spend a week on a college campus with others that will become life-long friends. Many additional activities enhance the experience beyond the business learning environment.

People believe that a good educator can change the course of a student’s life, and at Youth Entrepreneurs we agree. YE’s unique curriculum not only teaches core entrepreneurial and economic concepts, but instills the key principles and character traits, such as integrity and responsibility, that are essential to living a meaningful and fulfilling life. Youth Entrepreneurs vision is to allow educators the freedom to implement our experiential curriculum in the way they deem is best for their students, regardless of the class’s subject matter or setting. Educators are at the core of what we do and we want to ensure that they have the tools and resources available to be successful in their YE classrooms is the most effective way to create an exponential impact not only on these students, but the schools they are a part of, the communities they live in, and society at large as we look to create a shift in the educational landscape. Join us during this session to learn more about our pedagogy and curriculum, walk through one of our experiential activities first hand, hear about the educator focused resources and support we offer (all at no cost to you), and how to join the YE movement.
