Businesses Demand Ethical Leadership: Opportunities in Business Education

Research suggests that businesses are increasingly looking for evidence of ethical decision-making at all levels of leadership in the organization. Helping students of all ages learn to identify and analyze ethical issues is challenging, reaching far beyond what can be accomplished in an “ethics unit.” A winning strategy for business programs, high school and college, is the integration of ethical decision-making throughout the student’s entire program of study. Supported by a grant from the Denver-based Daniels Fund, the not-for-profit MBA Research and Curriculum Center has developed an extensive series of curricula and instructional tools to support integration across the secondary business curriculum. Many have application in college programs, as well. All are available at no cost to local schools.

A Resurrected Woman: Career & Educational Preparation of the African American Female Veteran via Mentorship

The presenter will examine and introduce the reality of underemployment among African American female veterans and the transitional breach from military to civilian career life that occurs among those that have served our country by protecting our land against all enemies foreign and domestic. This problem is important to all of us because of additional secondary causes that underemployment has on our communities, cities, states and country; governmental support, economic growth and disparities in healthcare.
CTRL-ALT-DELETE: “Restart” Low-Level Behaviors in Your Lab/Classroom

Can Educators Enhance Critical Thinking and Learning in the Classroom by Sharing the Podium With the Students?

The author was not able to compete with the high-resolution cell phones of students. Research on alternate teaching styles led to Professor Mazur who encouraged students to discuss lessons with each other. The process was replicated in his classroom and the result was encouraging.

Organizing your Classroom using Google Classroom and Google Drive

This workshop will demonstrate how you can organize your classroom using google classroom and google drive. I used these programs this past year and was extremely happy with how organized my classroom was this year. You will learn how to create assignments, classroom announcements, record grades and add attachment documents the students need to use to complete assignments.
Leadership in Professional Organizations in 2017 — Building the Next Generation of Leaders
