Message from the President

Dear OBEA Members and Potential Members,

I hope everyone is enjoying their last few weeks of summer. We all ask ourselves where has summer gone. Many have gone on a vacation. Taking classes to further their education and hopefully get a pay raise. Spending time with family and just relaxing. It is my sincere hope that this has been a relaxing summer for everyone. Personally, this has been the first summer that I have not had to take classes so that has been very enjoyable.

At the beginning of every school year we are excited to see our new students and a little nervous of all of the work ahead and hoping our students will be well behaved. Teaching takes many different skills I will just reflect on four points

  1. Passion – I believe passion is when you really love what you are doing and want to do the best you can in that job.
  2. Joy – We all want to bring joy into the lives of our students as all of our students are dealing with social and emotional issues in their lives.
  3. Work ethic – We as role models demonstrate to our students work ethic. This is one of the most important concepts that we teach to our students.
  4. Problem solving – How many times have we heard this before but it certainly is true.

This year let’s bring joy, energy, passion, and determination into the classroom. Our students deserve the very best in education and we all believe that we bring this to our students in real world life skills in business education. Let’s make sure everyone knows we are proud to be business educators and the importance of business education for our students.

OBEA is here for you and if you want to get more involved in OBEA, please reach out to me at 330-224-5054 or bgsu1985@gmail.com You should see some more information regarding the possibility of OBEA becoming an affiliate plus member of NBEA. More information to come later.

Again, I want to wish everyone the very best school year ever.

Respectfully,
Robert O’Donnell, OBEA President
